Hi, I’m Tim.

I’m a dad to a 2-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. My wife and I live in Cambridge, MA, and you can often find us running around Fresh Pond.

Before that, we lived in Flagstaff, Arizona, where we felt at home running through the mountains and desert .

For work, I’m a product designer and manager focused on movement and connection. I like finding the clunky bits with a team, connecting the missing pieces, and making the whole experience feel easy and fun.

Project

Recover Athletics

Runners needed a routine that fit how they felt and what they’d been doing. We used reported soreness and recent activity to put short movement clips into a routine they could follow.

Recover Athletics

Movement on Repeat

Runners needed movements they could follow through every rep; we made reusable clips loop smoothly from one rep to the next.

Project

Strava

Athletes were asking for things Strava already offered, but a maze of screens and entry points kept much of that value out of sight. After completing the merge of Recover Athletics into Strava, I started the Activity Visualization team to bring each activity’s map, stats, and standout moments together, making the story of their effort easier to discover, explore, and share.

Strava

The Whole Activity, Together

After a run or ride, athletes had to piece together details from separate places. We brought the map, stats, and key moments together on a new Activity Detail Page powered by the new Strava Mapping technology, helping retained use reach an all-time high and making Strava AI and new training plans easier to find to boost subscription conversion.

Strava

Something Fun to Share

Athletes had more to share than a screenshot could hold. We made stickers for the details of a run or ride, so they could tell that story in their own posts while it still felt like Strava.

Project

Linecook

Everybody cooks, but many of us do it alone, missing the ideas we could get from friends. We believed every hobby deserves its killer app, and as a founding designer, I pushed to make Linecook that place for home cooks.

Linecook

See What’s Cooking

When people needed an idea for dinner, they couldn’t easily see what their friends were making. We explored a feed that brought those meals into view, letting one person’s dinner inspire the next.

The Whole Activity, Together

Charts You Can Explore

Athletes wanted to see how a run or ride unfolded, not just its final numbers. We made charts they could drag through to explore the details over time.

The Whole Activity, Together

Moments on the Map

Athletes could see when they’d set a personal record, but still wondered where along the route it happened. We explored marking those moments on the map.

Strava

Has Anyone Done This?

Strava suggested routes based on paths athletes often took, but you couldn’t tell whether anyone had done a suggested route end to end. We matched activities to routes so people could see which suggestions others had actually run or ridden.
